Fort William FC v Fraserburgh FC

There will be a 7am pitch inspection at Claggan on Saturday morning in the hope that the rise in temperature overnight has thawed the surface sufficiently for the match against Fraserburgh to go ahead. Danny Conlon will be missing stand in keeper Stewart Gray however Jonathon Smith makes his return from injury and is set to start. Sean and Michael Ellis are not included for what would have been their last game before heading to Australia but as neither made training on Wednesday night they have been left out.

Squad: J Smith, R Lewandowski, L Campbell, A Martin, Mark Gillespie, Mike Gillespie, D Macintosh, J Hewitt, I Maclellan, L Barker, F Macrae, S Lopez, D Quigg, C Macleod and two trialists.

The Fort were without manager Danny Conlon as he served a one match ban and Michael Ellis completed the second of his two game ban following his sending off against Brora. Deveronvale FC 6 v 0 Fort William FC

The Fort went into this game with a number of key players missing through injury, suspension or work committments. This was an opportunity for the manager to play some of his fringe players however a number of these were also unavailable which opened the door for Callum Browett, an 18 year old trialist from Skye, and Ritchie Finnis from Inverness. In the first half a Davie Forbes shot hit the side netting and Sean Ellis had a goal ruled out for being offside, and Deveronvale were at their clinical best scoring three before the break.

Fort William FC 1 v 3 Brora FC

The Fort started the game brightly enough and were far the better team in the first half, with numerous chances created, unfortunately none of these were converted into goals. In the second half Sean Ellis struck a superb shot which the Brora keeper was helpless to do anything about and the Fort took a justified lead. Brora did push on and gained an equaliser from a free kick just outside the box, which was met at the far post by Gary Kerr who headed past the Fort stopper. The match ended on a sour note when Brora striker Liam Baxter took advantage of a dropped ball and unsportingly shot at goal instead of passing the ball back as is the norm in football up and down the country.

Fort William FC v Inverness Clachnacuddin FC- Postponed

A Friday afternoon pitch inspection confirmed that the game could not go ahead due to a waterlogged pitch. This fixture will now be played as a mid week game in 2012.

Inverness Clachnacuddin FC 6 v 0 Fort William FC

The Fort played their first fixture in almost four weeks on Firday night when they took to the park in Inverness. This was the first meeting of the two sides since former Fort and Clach player Simon Shields passed away in June of this year. Clach were presented with the Simon Shields Memorial Trophy, as victors in a game which they dominated from start to finish.

The Fort were missing key players as both Sean and Michael Ellis, Sean Grant, Andy Maclean and Chris Macleod along with the suspended Andy Martin, were all out. This opened the door for youngsters Iain Maclellan and Logan Barker to start but they were unable to make an impression and former Fort stopper Gary Macleod was under pressure as early as the third minute when Clach scored the opener.

Man of the match Sam Urquhart may have felt aggrieved having been replaced after scoring two goals and could possibly have scored a hat trick against his old side.
